Nomad Drive Van Won't Start: Four Things to Check
Use the official Demo patch checklist to diagnose the engine, battery, fuel, and handbrake when the van will not start.
Run the four checks
- Engine: confirm an engine is installed and that it is not in a broken state.
- Battery: check that the installed battery is not dead.
- Fuel: confirm that the vehicle actually has fuel.
- Handbrake: release the handbrake before trying to move.
Do not skip directly to replacing parts. A van with a healthy engine can still fail the start check because the battery is empty or the tank has no fuel.
If the battery is the blocker
Use a battery charging kit or install a charged spare battery. The separate battery guide explains why this site does not promise an exact restored-charge percentage.
If all four checks pass
The reviewed official source does not provide a universal fifth fix. Record the Demo version, whether you are in single-player or multiplayer, and the exact symptom before checking the newest patch notes or developer discussions. Do not claim that a rescue action repairs a mechanical start failure; rescue and ignition are different tasks.

The four blockers were taken from the official June 22 Demo patch notes and kept separate from unverified player guesses.
Engine presence/condition, battery, fuel, and handbrake are covered. Every mechanical failure, keybind issue, multiplayer desync, and future Early Access behavior is not.
